Hey IDIOT --

You are running around on the Internet giving Christmas advice to others
and then end up trying to impress them with a Mexican "Merry
Christmas"..........*misselled*

It is FELIZ (not Felice) NAVIDAD...!!

I can sing this song with the correct pronunciation. Can YOU?

Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad
Prospero Ano y Felicidad.

Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad
Prospero Ano y Felicidad.

Well, Old Odd Anderson has me there. I flubbed the spelling.
Obviously it's a pretty common mistake. When you Google "felice
navidad" it comes up pretty often.

And "felice" is actually Italian, not Spanish. Felice Gimondi
("Happy" Gimondi, literally) was a professional bicycle racer and
World Champion when I was a kid.

OK Anderson ... my heart is broken. I must have gotten 100 "Merry
Christmas" emails from that mailing and no one noticed that I screwed
up the spelling. Like someone once told me when I made a similar
mistake, they just thought that it was part of the schtick ;)

Soooooo ... you are on my mailing lists. How many of them? And you
say that you aren't obsessed with me!
Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahah!!!!!

As has been pointed out to me, "felice" is actually Italian, not
Spanish.
The proper phrase in Spanish should be "Felix Navidad!"

You might not know that there is another use for that phrase, other than
it's appearance in a cheesy 70's song.....

"Felice" is a near perfect phonetic (that's pho-ne-tic) spelling of how
the phrase sounds when spoken in properly accented Spanish. What this
means is John prolly speaks a little Spanish or has Spanish friends, and
you're a loser using Google to look up song lyrics on Christmas.

Feliz Navidad, Puerca!

That, and that my Spanish really sucks. But I have found that folks
south of the border understand that I am trying, and we laugh and all
get along. Whether it's by writing it down, or doing hand signals, we
all manage to communicate somehow.

Merry Christmas!
