OJ is exactly where he needs to be (in prison).

It's been 22 years since my original pre-trial post, but I still stand by the right to a fair trial and "innocent until proven guilty".

OJ deserved to have his day in court just as DYLAN ROOF, the confessed Charleston shooter deserves a fair trial now. Even though Roof posted a manifesto outlining his belief in White supremacy and his hatred towards Blacks, he still deserves his day in court.
Carolyn Duff,
You have stated that all of your polls say the same thing,
namely, that more blacks than white think OJ is innocent.
No matter how many polls you come up with, if they do not
include an undecided category (to which many I know, including
myself would vote), that poll is not valid as it does not allow me to
voice my true opinion. So if I had
to answer, I would answer innocent, SIMPLY BECAUSE
HE IS PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY and
for no other reason. But maybe you don't think that OJ
has that right.
But most everyone (I hope) black or white
wants to know that he gets a fair trial and fair punishment for
the crime and that he is not 'lynched' just because there are
those who want it done, regardless of his guilt or innocence.
But just for arguments sake let us say that blacks are
reluctant to convict other blacks (based solely on an inept
poll). What do you suggest
we do? Eliminate blacks from the jury pool?
So do you also suggest that we eliminate all white juries
(who on the record time and time again show
their bias for whites defendents)
who acquit white civilians and police officers from murdering
blacks, hispanics, chinese and other non-white victims even
when these murders have taken place in full view of witnesses?
And inspite of your belief, it is still happening.
What is your solution?
Do you think that whites should be excluded from juries since
they have to my knowledge NEVER convicted and sentenced a white
man to death for the killing of a black person (Please give me
a court case, as I am very interested in verifying this), even though
white juries have shown that they can give a black man death
for the murder of whites?
I challenge you AGAIN not to muddy the issue and
to answer these questions directly!
Email is preferble.

Georgianna

If you can produce a poll which includes the undecided
category, please post the source.
You also disregard the fact that almost as many blacks
think he is guilty as do think he is not, which means that
again you are of the mind "If one thinks he's not guilty,
then they all think that way".
And regarding OJ's and the black community,
it is well known that while
OJ was more than happy to raise A LOT of dollars
in the community at large, he was always too busy
to help raise money for causes within
the black community, where the impact for blacks could
be more deeply felt. Yes maybe blacks benefitted from
the general fundraising, given that we are 12 % of the population
then the impact would be relatively small.
He Didn't want to be regarded as black (his comment was that
he had broken the color barrier and was colorless),
left his black wife as soon as he took up with Nicole
Simpson and tried to turn the first wife's children
against her. Every time we saw OJ, his son, Cowlings, they were
with white women which black women could read
as a commentary of his opinion of black women.
So one could take this information
and say that it would
be to his disadvantage to have blacks (especially black females)
on his jury.
But most everyone (I hope) black or white
wants to know that he gets a fair trial and fair punishment for
the crime and that he is not 'lynched' just because there are

Don't beat Dylan Roof in jail (as was done about a week ago), don't kill him in jail, TRY HIM IN A COURT OF LAW.
