No this is not clear at all. The defense expert and FBI contradicted each other
in their testimoney. One of them was clearly lying. I would tend to
believe the FBI over a the defense expert.

Of course, that really says it all. The issue is credibility.
For those who would NOT tend to believe the FBI over a defense
witness, the whole picture is different.

I have read both Martz's and Rieders' testimony, and I find Martz far more credible. Rieders seems to have an axe to grind and is constantly providing far more information than he has been asked for. Rieders seems incapable of answering a direct question directly. He is quite evasive, always rephrasing with his answers what he has been asked. He constantly answers what he has not been asked.

I've personally answered this very question from you already. And
the author to whom you were replying answered it, too
The blood on the fence had been exposed to the elements for 3 weeks. Sun-
light, rain, mositure, wind, temperature changes. Perhaps EDTA and blood
deteriorate differently under those conditions. Perhaps EDTA breaks down
faster when exposed to the enviroment. Perhaps it washes away easier when
exposed to rain.
The level of EDTA found in THAT sample was well ABOVE the levels in ALL
OTHER CRIME SCENE SAMPLES. We also know that Vanatter CARRIED SIMPSON'S
BLOOD VIAL TO THE CRIME SCENE, a tremendously STUPID (or CRIMINAL) deci-
sion.
Now, will I have to explain this again, in another 4 days?

The EDTA levels may have been higher on the rear gate, but were still significantly lower than the levels found in the reference vial. If the reference vial blood had been put on the gate, the EDTA levels would have been even higher still!
